Price: $750

Camp Overview

This three-week course aims to effectively review the necessary skills for success in AP Calculus and to keep students’ minds organized so that they can understand the chronological order of their mathematical development up to now. It will also provide students entering AP Calculus with a detailed review of domain and range, polynomial equations and graphs, exponential equations and graphs, logarithmic equations and graphs, unit circles, trigonometric identities and equations, parametric equations, and polar coordinates and equations. Much time will be spent on reviewing algebraic techniques essential for success in calculus. Students will continue to practice how to use different functions to model behavior in the real world and how to find solutions to complex problems analytically, numerically and graphically. The graphing calculator will be used as a tool for effective problem-solving and enhancement of conceptual understanding. Students will be re-introduced to the average rate of change and shown how it relates to calculus. The beginning topics of calculus will be introduced and explained algebraically and graphically.
